year 2012 as we have begun a new era in the Maya World the name CYRILA’s
Chocolate has been now Officially changed to “IXCACAO Maya Belizean Chocolate”
As follows with the same owners and operators Juan and Abelina we thought that, the name IXCACAO much represents the true meaning of Maya
December 21st 2012 marked the beginning of a new era in the Mayan world. At Cyrila's we have embraced this transition, and in celebration (commemoration?) have changed our name to IXCACAO Mayan Belizean Chocolate. With this new title we aim to express our appreciation and interest in preserving all that is Mayan. By changing our name we are documenting the beauty of Mayan culture, mythology, and history.
The business is still owned and operated by Juan and Abelina Cho. We extend an invitation to Belizeans, Mayans, and guests from around the world to share with us the story of chocolate, organic agriculture, diversity, and IXCACAO Mayan Belizean Chocolate! Join us at IXCACAO Mayan Belizean Chocolate in welcoming in a new era of Mayan sustainability and cultural preservation. Nestled among the foothills of the Maya Mountains! Here at IXCACAO, we make authentic Maya chocolate products. We offer our guests hands-on chocolate making sessions, tours of our farm and processing facilities, authentic Mayan meals, and a chance to learn about the history and significance of chocolate in Maya culture. Visitors are invited to sample IXCACAO chocolate bars, cacao powder, hot chocolate, and cacao wine, and to check out our local Belizean crafts. You can read our guests’ terrific reviews on TripAdvisor or hear more of our story on our official Blog. A trip to IXCACAO is educational, adventurous, and tasty!
